Requirements
A degree in Aerospace engineering, Telecommunication engineering or in a similar subjectAt least two years of professional work experience in the space communications or spectrum engineering domainDeep understanding of satellite Radio-Frequency communication systems and satellite orbits (non-GEO orbits) Knowledge of link budgets and desirable experience in related applicationsProgramming skills in Matlab and/or PythonFluent in English, both in speech and writingThe following skills and experience would be highly desirable:Knowledge of ITU regulations and recommendations as well as international standards for Radio Frequency and modulation of satellite systemsKnowledge of spacecraft operations, ground station operations or advanced spacecraft trajectories ( e.g. Lagrangian orbits, Interplanetary…)Knowledge of relational database systems, particularly MS AccessWeekly on-site presence, relocation to Darmstadt/Frankfurt area
Responsibilities
Analyze and assess Radio Frequency (RF) interference, handling critical parameters driving RFI studies and ensuring coordination of satellite networks and ground station systems with other operators and planned missions.Manage frequency assignments and international coordination, including ITU processes (coordination, delta-coordination, filing, and licensing of satellite networks and Earth stations).Act as technical interface with external stakeholders (e.g. ITU Administrations, mission customers, and external space agencies), providing expert support in coordination processes and regulatory discussions.Support regulatory and mission activities by participating in technical meetings, reviewing deliverables, liaising with flight dynamics specialists, and preparing reports and executive summaries for stakeholders.Maintain and evolve software tools for ITU procedures, RFI analyses, and frequency management tasks, ensuring system reliability, feature development, and technical follow-up.
