Nokia Mediation SA – Job Description (Designer Profile): 1. Core Technical Skills: • Deep knowledge of telecom architecture, charging standards, and OSS/BSS domain. • Strong expertise in telecommunications (4G/5G, IMS, charging, OSS/BSS, Diameter, SS7, CAMEL, MAP), cloud-native architecture (Kubernetes, microservices). • Extensive experience in telecom mediation solutions – CDR decoding, correlation, aggregation, filtering, and delivery towards multiple downstream systems (Billing, Charging, Interconnect, RA, etc.). • Hands-on in network architecture – IP design (L2, L3, L4), routing protocols, load balancing, and application layer protocols. • Proficient in Linux/Unix environments, with scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl) for automation and troubleshooting. • Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle), data modeling, and SQL for mediation lookups and validations. • Expertise in cloud-native architecture – Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, CI/CD pipelines. • Working knowledge of automation & orchestration tools (Kafka, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins). • Familiar with 3GPP standards for 4G, 5G, IMS and service-oriented architectures. 2. Designer Responsibilities (Product Perspective): • Analyze business requirements and translate them into High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documents for mediation solutions. • Design mediation workflows covering decoding, validation, enrichment, correlation, aggregation, and delivery. • Define and validate lookups, mappings, and transformation logic to align with business rules and charging standards. • Ensure scalability, performance, and fault-tolerance in mediation design for high-volume data processing. • Collaborate with stakeholders (business, operations, downstream teams) to align mediation design with product requirements. • Drive solution architecture planning and ensure compliance with Nokia mediation product capabilities and standards. • Provide design sign-offs, impact analysis, and effort estimation for Change Requests (CRs) and new services. • Work closely with testing teams to validate E2E mediation flows and support defect resolution. • Ensure reusability of mediation components and standardize design templates across multiple streams. • Document configuration guidelines, design best practices, and integration patterns for future reference. 3. Soft Skills: • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle complex, high-volume telecom data flows. • Collaborative working style with cross-functional teams (Testing, Development, Operations). • Ability to mentor team members and review design quality.
