Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL DO This is a unique opportunity to help build and maintain products that support the scheduling and control of ground station hardware. You will be part of a skilled agile development team, with team members in Sweden and in the USA. You will work in a dynamic environment and participate in the full software development life cycle of our products. Our customers trust us with their satellite communication. We build fast and reliable services and tools, to ensure that satellite data is transferred safely to the customer. Satellite data has many purposes, from science lab results and earth observations to weather data and tsunami alerts. Our work matters to people and makes a difference for the world. As a Software Engineer, you will: Work with the team on the design and development of scheduling services.Support our colleagues with antenna control, orbital launch services and emerging technologies.Develop and maintain high quality code for new and existing software applications used to enable SSC’s services.Further improve our processes for automated SW testing and deployment through the exploration of emerging technologies.Enhance system observability by implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting.Promote and refine agile methodologies, principles and values within the teams.Support our customers' missions.
Responsibilities

You’re comfortable taking initiatives, working both independently and collaboratively, and you enjoy transforming ideas into robust and scalable solutions. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW B.S. Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering, or similar experienceProficiency in C++for backend developmentStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesMinimum 5 years of relevant working experienceBONUS POINTS Experience of API development using RESTFul (JSON/XML)Experience with Go and PythonSolid understanding of database design, optimization, and managementExperience with software development best practices including Scrum, DevOps and CI/CD MethodologiesExperience with containerization and orchestration toolsCloud experience with technologies such as AWS and KubernetesExperience from the space industryAdditional information: Ability to travel is a plus. This role may include work outside standard hours due to mission-critical operations, including participation in an on-call rotation (up to one week per month).
