About the Contract
Ventia is a long-standing partner of the Department of Defence, providing integrated Defence infrastructure and asset management support services.
We are currently in the early works phase for the construction of a sewage treatment plant at the Amberley RAAF Base.
We provide complete project lifecycle management - from design and engineering reviews through construction, commissioning, and final handover.
About the Role
The Site Superintendent to lead site-based construction activities on a major Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) upgrade project at RAAF Base Amberley. This is a hands-on leadership role where safety, quality, and delivery excellence are critical.
Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and broader project team, you’ll take ownership of daily site operations, subcontractor coordination, and safe execution of high-risk construction activities in a highly regulated Defence environment.
Other key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Manage subcontractors, supervisors, and site workflows across complex infrastructure works
- Champion safety by approving permits, conducting pre-starts, leading toolbox talks, and ensuring compliance with HSE and Defence requirements
- Ensure works are constructed in line with approved IFC designs
- Monitor progress against the project execution plan and identify opportunities for improvement
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and Defence stakeholders
About You:
You’re a confident site leader who thrives in complex, high-risk construction environments and leads with integrity and accountability.
You’ll bring:
- Qualifications in Construction Management, Supervision, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated and strong experience with on-site construction delivery, infrastructure, or major projects
- Strong experience in services, concrete, structural works, deep excavations, and high-risk construction. Preferable to have waste / water treatment experience
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multi-disciplinary site teams
- Excellent safety leadership and risk management capability
- Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
- Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office and site documentation systems)
