Apple's eBusiness Services team manages critical integrations with Apple's supply chain partners such as manufacturers, logistics providers, banks, resellers and business customers. This role plays a crucial role in supporting the entire Apple supply chain, from manufacturing to product delivery. We adopt an “AI First Mindset” to develop automation and integration solutions. Join Apple eBusiness Services Team as a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to help support and scale our Next-gen platforms. We are seeking a technically hands on Manager with a real passion for programming and automation, developing and implementing strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.

Description

As a Site Reliability Engineering Manager, you will be leading a team responsible for providing the platform for Apple eBusiness systems to maintain constant uptime, scale seamlessly, and support the addition of new applications and services. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with a passion for excellence, quality and detail. The SRE Manager will support operations, collaborate with the developers and cross functional managers to aid in the design and assist with the implementation to improve stability, security, and scalability. Success of this role depends on strong understanding of SRE principles and practices, combined with a track record of resolving issues in a live production environment, and implementing strategies to minimize them while providing clear visions and directions to the team.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 8 years of prior demonstrated experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or an Infrastructure-focused role. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (eg. Java, Python), SRE technologies relevant to automation, monitoring and incident response. Building and operating container orchestrating systems like Kubernetes or EKS. 5+ years of experience leading and managing high performance SRE teams. Proven track record in managing complex SRE projects, enterprise services at a large scale. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant or STEM discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams, stake holders and leadership teams. Strong programming experience in Java building web, middleware or backend applications. Deep understanding of Oracle or similar relational databases and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. Firsthand experience in performance tuning of applications and databases. Knowledge of HTTP/S, TCP, DNS, web application load balancing. Deep understanding of security concepts and protocols - authentication, authorization, signing, encryption, SSL/TLS, SSH/SFTP, PKI, X509 certificates and PGP. Masters or advanced degree in technical discipline.
