Shop Mechanic III
Overview
The Shop Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing light-duty trucks and related equipment in a shop environment. This role supports safe and efficient operations by ensuring all vehicles are in proper working condition. The position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule and may be based in Midland or Pecos.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light-duty trucks and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
- Utilize shop tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and repairs completed
- Operate company-provided vehicles as needed for work-related tasks
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and health (EHS) requirements
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support general shop operations and assist with additional mechanical tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Experience as a light-duty truck mechanic required
- ASE certification preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location
- Ability to obtain required safety certifications prior to start, including PEC Safeland and H2S training
- Knowledge of and compliance with safety standards and PPE requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR. and agility and fit for duty.
