Shipping Supervisor

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the shipping and Recieving though supervision, development and training of the warehouse team. Responsible for directing activities of the shipping department. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
·         Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
·         Correspond with customers and sales using tools provided
·         Monitor shipping schedule and correspond with Scheduler
·         Maintain filing system
·         Process customer pickups as required
·         Collaborate, consult and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts
·         Administer the truck scheduling system 
·         Develop delivery schedules for all orders
·         Recommend changes for improvements in efficiencies and performance
·         Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed
·         Compile a daily performance report and distribute
·         Contact and schedule outside carriers as required
·         Assist in warehouse as needed
·         Respot trailers as needed
·         Reconcile daily shipping log
·         Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers
·         Monitor all job functions to match quality and safety policies
·         Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions
·         Ensure all projects completed timely and accurately
·         Work from written and verbal directions
·         Maintain neat and orderly work area
·         Organize and maintain plant fun schedule “Smartplan”
·         Order sheets daily
·         Order Production supplies and maintain an accurate inventory
Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting 
Skill Set:
·         Basic math and computer skills
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
·         Organizational skills
Qualifications Desired:
·         5 years of experience as a shipping supervisor or manager
·         Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred
·         High school diploma / GED
