This position will be located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and may offer a competitive relocation package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
As the Manager, Launch Silo Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) you will own the end to end delivery of the Launch Silo Integrated Product Team (IPT). You will lead four tightly coupled disciplines:
Traditional Systems Engineering: Requirements capture, architecture development, interface requirements definition
Integration: Interface Control Models, installation drawings, collector models, EBOM ownership
Model Simulation & Analysis: Multi physics simulation, trade studies, design validation analysis
Test & Verification: Test planning, execution, data analysis, readiness reporting
You will be the strategic bridge between senior leadership, the customer, and the multi disciplinary engineering groups that design, build, and certify the launch silo.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Program Leadership
• Define and communicate a clear technical vision for the Launch Silo IPT, aligning all SEIT functions to cost, schedule, and performance targets.
• Partner with program managers, finance, and acquisition teams to develop Earned Value Management (EVM) baselines and monitor variance.
• Conduct risk based assessments; lead mitigation and opportunity exploitation across the SEIT spectrum.
Cross Functional Team Management
• Directly manage functional leads for Requirements, Architecture, Interface Control, Simulation, and Test.
• Champion model based engineering (MBE) practices—maintain a live Digital Twin of the launch silo and ensure traceability from requirement to test.
• Oversee EBOM/IBOM integrity, change control, and configuration management in collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineering community.
Technical Execution
• Ensure rigorous requirements flow down, verification, and validation (V&V) across all sub systems.
• Approve Interface Control Models and installation drawings; resolve interface conflicts with external IPTs and the customer.
• Guide the Simulation & Analysis team in developing high fidelity models for structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics studies.
• Supervise test planning, hardware in the loop (HIL) simulations, and on site launch silo qualification tests.
Stakeholder Communication
• Prepare and deliver concise, data driven briefings for senior leadership, program executives, key subcontractor partners, and DoD customers.
• Foster customer intimacy; act as the primary technical liaison for all launch silo related inquiries and status reports.
• Publish regular performance dashboards (schedule, cost, technical health) and participate in senior level program reviews.
People Development
• Build a high performing, inclusive SEIT culture; mentor engineers, promote career growth, and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct talent gap analyses, recruit critical skill sets, and lead workforce planning activities.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Experienced in requirements engineering, system architecture, interface control, model based design, and test & verification.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Direct experience with launch vehicle or launch silo systems (e.g., GBSD, GMLV, or commercial launch infrastructure).
• Expertise in MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, IBM Rational Rhapsody) and systems engineering lifecycle management (e.g., IBM Rational Team Concert, JAMA).
• 5 years leading cross functional engineering teams, delivering complex, cost sensitive programs on schedule.
• Background in structural/thermal analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, ABAQUS).
• Prior involvement in hardware in the loop testing, environmental qualification, or launch site integration.
• Demonstrated success in fostering a diverse, inclusive engineering environment.
• Familiarity with Agile and JIRA
• Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution. Candidate will require ability to rapidly assess and lend guidance to projects assigned to the organizational group as well as demonstrated mentoring and guidance to engineers.
• Active DoD Top Secret (adjudicated 5years).
• Communication: Strong presentation skills; comfortable briefing senior executives, customers, and external partners.
• Soft Skills: Influential leader who builds trust, drives collaboration, and resolves conflicts with transparency and authenticity.
• Program Delivery: Proven record of meeting contractual cost, schedule, and technical requirements; experienced with EVM or equivalent cost schedule control tools.
Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $276,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
