Tesla’s drive unit development team is looking for skilled and motivated technical program managers to push the drive unit propelling our vehicles to the next level. The team is presently working to improve the current - and design the next - generation of drive units and is looking for engineers to guide our designs through every phase from prototype to launch.   • Lead successful execution of launches and improvement projects defining, tracking, communicating, and adjusting relevant schedules in an organized and methodical way, for example using JIRA.​

  • Coordinate with engineering leaders, vendors, and cross-functional teams, e.g. manufacturing, reliability, and testing, across the globe to plan, de-risk, and guide programs from approval to completion.​

  • Understand technical issues, prevent and identify blockers and drive them to closure, escalate as appropriate.​

  • Manage build plans across multiple programs facilitating logistics, supporting production, and driving validation.

  • M.Sc. in Engineering in a relevant field (e.g., Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics), or the equivalent in experience, with strong fundamentals and evidence of exceptional ability.​

  • 3+ experience in program management for complex electromechanical products.​

  • Experience planning schedules and resources, analyzing and defining metrics and business cases for large-scale program implementations, with proven ability to drive them to success under pressure.​

  • Proactive and organized collaborator, detail-oriented, with strong technical communication and documentation ability.​

Additional Preferred Skills​

  • Fundamentals of drive units, electric motors, traction inverters, and geartrains.​

  • Understanding of the manufacturing challenges associated to drive unit mass production.

  • Passion for innovation and driven to contribute to the development of cutting-edge products.
