Responsibilities:

  • Lead underwriting for a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions, including multifamily, office, retail, and mixed-use properties
  • Evaluate borrower financials, property performance, market data, and deal-specific risk factors to determine creditworthiness
  • Structure loans and investment packages that maximize returns while managing risk
  • Collaborate directly with brokers, lenders, and internal teams to ensure timely execution and seamless closings
  • Mentor and guide junior underwriters and analysts, fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Present detailed underwriting analyses and recommendations to senior leadership and investment committees
  • Stay up to date on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to continually enhance underwriting strategies

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in commercial real estate underwriting, with prior brokerage experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex deals, perform advanced financial modeling, and mitigate risk effectively
  • Deep knowledge of property valuation, capital structures, and deal structuring
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of managing multiple high-value transactions under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CCIM) a plus

Compensation:

  • Salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year
  • In-office position based in Brooklyn, NY
