Senior Systems/Software Development Engineer
- Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs system software programs for enhancements and new products for the storage systems. Develops system/platform software for enabling different components on the storage arrays.
- Senior level network and system expert to define and lead Enterprise storage product efforts.
- Design and develop products that require in-depth knowledge of Device-driver development and Linux internals
- Involves designing, specifying, and leading the implementation of the platform features of the storage array.
- Bringing up and enabling new hardware components and developing low level firmware features
- Designing firmware simulation environment, investigating and debugging issues, and developing failure analysis tools and processes
- Coding and testing in C/C++ and Python
- Work often involves cross organizational interactions: Hardware, Firmware, System management, Network teams, Architects, other organizations, etc. to arrive at the best solutions.
- Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including IO path, storage management, databases and cloud-related application.
- Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
- Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of system; identifies and debugs and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into system architecture.
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and external partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
What you need to bring:
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Working experience of 10+ years.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior experience of bringing up a Hardware platform is highly valued
- Prior experience of performance tuning disk drives, drivers & memory management for scale.
- Experience with Micro-controllers, SoC, or hardware bring-up
- Designing software systems running on multiple platform types and protocols like SNMP & iSCSI.
- Must have very strong system programming background with C/C++/ Golang for large enterprise class software
- Must have proficiency with data structures, algorithms and multi-threaded programming
- Must have in-depth knowledge of OS internals, networking, and storage concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
- We are primarily hybrid workforce (3 days in a week at office), you will be expected to work from the Bangalore office in compliance with company policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave
