Senior Structural Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with extensive experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed structural analysis and simulations, providing technical support, and ensuring the integrity and safety of our designs.
This position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member within our Engineering division. The position will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:
- Provide in-depth structural assessment and forensic investigations of structural failures
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis to assess the structural integrity of various projects.
- Develop and evaluate complex structural models using FEA software.
- Conduct advanced analysis of equipment, systems and structures using finite element codes
- Perform static, dynamic, and thermal analyses on structures and components.
- Conduct design review, structural monitoring, and material evaluation.
- Analyze results, providing recommendations for design improvements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other service divisions to develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Assist in the resolution of technical claims/disputes.
- Write/Prepare technical reports and documentation for project findings and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory codes – buildings, structures, site work, and safety.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
- 10-20 years with structural and finite element project experience
- Bachelors in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master of Science degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Proven experience in performing Finite Element Analysis in a professional setting.
- Knowledge and experience using FEA software and element codes (SAP, ANSYS, STRUDL, ROHR, etc.)
- Experience using measurement devices.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standard, and regulations
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, and engineering principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel to client meetings and project site visits.
