Senior Staff Product Manager

In this role you will be a part of the extraordinary team at Boston Dynamics that is building Stretch- the autonomous mobile case handling solution aimed at tackling some of the most challenging and demanding tasks in the warehouse. Stretch helps make daily work safer, easier, and more productive.  

You’ll be an integral member of our warehouse robotics product management team.  To thrive in this role, you must have a passion for customers.  You will conduct product discovery, work cross-functionally to drive product strategy, and help guide our development team on building and launching products that deliver value to our customers.

This role requires a strong customer presence and the ability to work directly with strategic partners to understand workflows, pain points, and success criteria for large-scale automation deployments. Domain expertise in autonomous mobility, robotics, and manipulation is highly valued.

Day to day activities: 

  • Assess market needs in conjunction with the technological frontier to shape a cohesive and realistic product development roadmap, maximizing value for our customers

  • Work with prospects remotely and on-site to understand their needs, how they could use our products, and how we can help them succeed. 

  • Review customer data and metrics to validate hypotheses, identify opportunities, and assess performance of Stretch.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between customers and engineers to design, build, and deploy innovative applications of Stretch, leading tradeoff negotiation and prioritization decisions

  • Provide product lifecycle management including customer engagement, stakeholder management, building business cases, product ideation, definition, prioritization, overseeing development and launch

  • Conduct gap and competitor analysis of our current and next gen solutions.

Desired skills: 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a product manager or in a relevant industry

  • Proven ability to translate existing customer processes into requirements for end-to-end robotic workflows that solve a range of customer problems

  • Proficiency in interpreting market data, KPIs, and financial models to assess market attractiveness and ROI potential

  • Exceptional ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments 

  • Exceptional level of drive and autonomy

  • Excellent skills in stakeholder management, documentation, and communication

  • Extensive experience with engaging counterparties from the loading dock to the C-Suite

  • Experience working within the warehousing and fulfillment industry

  • Experience working with new technology introduction 

  • Experience working within the robotics industry is a strong plus

Travel:

  • This position requires occasional domestic and international travel to customer and potential sites up to 20 percent.

  • Otherwise, this role is expected to be onsite in Waltham, MA

The base pay range for this position is between $154,310.03 to $192,887.54 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience.  This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure.  Additional details regarding these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer for employment.
