The Position
At Roche, we believe that data and digital solutions are the backbone of modern medicine. The Digital Innovation and Operational Services Chapter is a global powerhouse within R&D, dedicated to internal transformation: increasing productivity, reducing systemic complexity, and harmonizing global business practices.
As a Senior R&D Enterprise Training Operations Specialist, you won't just manage systems; you will be the architect of the digital infrastructure that empowers our scientists to focus on life-saving science. We are looking for a mature, proactive professional who bridges the gap between complex R&D processes and cutting-edge automation. You will work independently, solve complex problems with a fresh perspective, and act as a strategic partner for stakeholders worldwide.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic System Ownership: Act as the Lead Subject Matter Expert for complex R&D business applications (LMS/EDMS), ensuring they are perfectly aligned with customer workflows and enterprise goals.
Drive Digital Evolution: Proactively identify manual legacy steps and lead the transition toward digitization. You will leverage AI agents, scripting, and automation to systematically reduce administrative burden.
Complex Problem Solving: Analyze multifaceted operational issues and system bottlenecks. You bring a fresh perspective to existing solutions, exercising high-level judgment based on global data insights.
Functional Mentorship: Act as a key resource and mentor for colleagues globally. You are adept at explaining complex information and building consensus across diverse interfaces.
Operational Excellence: Work independently within broad guidelines to ensure all activities strictly adhere to regulated R&D processes, guaranteeing audit readiness and data integrity.
Who You Are
You are someone who values impact and innovation. You are curious, disciplined, and possess a "can-do" mindset when facing technological challenges.
Education & Experience: University degree in a technical, scientific, or business discipline with 5+ years of professional experience in operations, system administration, or technical lead roles (preferably in regulated environments).
Technical Expertise: High proficiency in enterprise business applications (e.g., Cornerstone, EDMS). You have a proven track record in AI prompt engineering, scripting, or automation development.
Analytical & Strategic Mindset: You possess a rigorous, detail-oriented approach to execution, but you also have the ability to step back and improve the "big picture" process.
Communication & Influence: Exceptional English skills (German is a plus). You excel at translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and navigating sensitive organizational topics with diplomacy.
Global Mindset: Ability to work flexibly across time zones to collaborate with our global teams and willingness to travel if required.
Preferred Qualifications (The "Pluses"):
Direct experience as a Learning Expert or background in Data Science.
Expertise in Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Instructional Design, or Graphical Design.
Hands-on experience specifically within LMS Cornerstone
