How you will contribute
You will ensure that delivered services are optimized to meet business demands and the service operations strategy, plan, measure, report and communicate service improvement initiatives, and serve as a consultant on issues and resolutions. You will also recommend actions that can be taken to optimize investments and benefits and to mitigate risks. This role will require you to identify suppliers, evaluate them, on-board new vendors, establish and run vendor governance; collaborate with management and follow-up on requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and payments; work with project resources to provide design collateral and to configure software components so they are aligned with security policy and governance; and ensure adherence to development and configuration standards and processes.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Senior Software Configuration Engineer to join our dynamic Mondelez Digital Services – Research and Development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in software configuration or digital application development & implementation in support of Research and Development in food, consumer goods, or pharmaceuticals for systems, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), Global Laboratory Information System (GLIMS), or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or SAP. As a Configuration Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, testing, and deploying software in support of food scientists, process engineers, packaging engineers, chemists, and pilot plant staff.
Responsibilities:
Ability to independently deliver:
Configuration & Implementation:
Develop expertise in base software and existing configurations
Partner with software customers to understand, document, and align business needs
Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Execute the configuration within the software based on business requirements and solution design.
Develop and drive the execution of User Acceptance Testing and resolve issues
Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues during testing and deployment.
Ensure adherence to best practices and standardization
Build reports, dashboards, forms, calculations, visuals, notebooks, inputs, and outputs within the tool
Own access and license management/approval within your area
Leverage APIs to pull data into and out of software to integrate with upstream and downstream processes (Cloud services, Data Bricks, Power BI, etc.)
Leadership & Management:
Provide guidance and mentorship/training to junior configuration consultants.
Communicate effectively & independently with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Identify and mitigate risks related to configuration.
Documentation & Training:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for any design specifications, configuration guides, and test scripts.
Partner with the team to develop training for the new functionality
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to ensure team members are proficient
Perform training and onboarding sessions for software & project
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with the latest software releases and features.
Identify opportunities to improve configuration processes and methodologies.
Contribute to the development of reusable configuration components and templates.
Experience & Qualification:
Experience:
6+ years of total combined experience within in the following areas:
Software configuration or software engineering
Food, Pharma, or Consumer goods product development, packaging development, analytical chemistry, or process engineering
Data Science or Data Analytics
Specification Management
Proven track record of successfully implementing/deploying digital tools in complex Research and Development business environments.
Experience with Python Scripting for automation and processing of structured data files
Experience with flat-file transfer protocols (SFTP) and RESTful API services
Skills:
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent documentation skills.
Ability to learn new skills
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with reporting and/or statistical tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, JMP, Minitab).
Experience with DataBricks or Amazon Cloud Services
Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
Experience using AI
