Senior Scientist / Team lead Protein Sciences with focus on membrane proteins (gn)

Your mission

• Provision of scientific and technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to achieve corporate goals for challenging research projects within early-stage drug discovery on membrane proteins
• Responsibility for supervising a small team of research associates
• Establishing and managing research projects  within the field of membrane proteins (GPCRs, ion-channels, transporters) and challenging soluble proteins
• Evaluation and implementation of new technology and/or equipment to constantly improve the membrane protein platform
• Preparation of all relevant project documentation (i.e. project plans, SOPs, scientific presentations, technical reports)
• Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers, and business partners

Your profile

• PhD in biochemistry or related field with an excellent proven track record
• A minimum of 2 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the area of membrane proteins
• Strong acquaintance with regard to structure-based construct design, expression and purification of membrane proteins and soluble proteins
• Profound knowledge in structural biology, e.g. Xray and/or cryoEM
• Hands-on experience in expression and purification of membrane and soluble proteins in bacterial, insect and/or mammalian cells for structural and biophysical applications 
• Hands-on mentality with a problem-solving mindset and attention to details
• Independent, service-oriented way of working, with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skills
