You are part of a project team conducting short-term food ingredient research to enable ingredient approval that will help us deliver our strategy. You will plan and execute projects and/or work tracks supporting both innovation and base business. You will lead workstreams from initial review through results interpretation, write-up, recommendations and dissemination. In this role, you will establish internal and external technical networks and interact independently with cross functional partners and stakeholders.
How you will contribute
The role of the Senior Scientist, Ingredient Research, is a member of the Mondelez/Clif Bars R&D Team and will be accountable for conducting food ingredient research, technical evaluation of new ingredients, and oversight of ingredient quality control. Working closely with ingredient suppliers, this position will be responsible for managing the development of Mondelez/Clif ingredients specifications and assuring that ingredients are compliant to regulatory and internal requirements. A key cross functional partner with product developers, sourcing, and food safety & quality teams, the Senior Scientist will help identify and qualify alternative sources of our ingredients and will drive hands-on applications testing at both the bench and in the pilot plant while leveraging experimental design. As part of the Innovation team, the Senior Scientist will explore emerging food trends and suitable new ingredients related to those trends.

Assessing critical technical capabilities of new and existing ingredient suppliers by evaluating quality parameters, processes, and documents involved in the manufacture of raw materials.
Communicating complex technical problems and solutions in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting style and content accordingly.
Handling multiple priorities and adhering to deadlines.
Applying technical curiosity and scientific understanding to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions, make recommendations and influence decision making.
Working well with suppliers, academics and internal SMEs to deliver technical solutions.

Salary and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $97,300 to $133,815; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. In addition, Mondelez International offers the following benefits: health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, paid holidays and vacation time.
