The Role:
The Senior SASE Engineer - Zscaler will spearhead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-wide Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions. This senior role is pivotal in advancing the firm's cybersecurity posture by leading engineering efforts focused on ZScaler technologies, including ZScaler Private Access (ZPA) and ZScaler Internet Access (ZIA). The position involves ensuring all SASE initiatives meet rigorous quality and compliance standards within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, driving the successful integration and automation of the SASE framework to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end engineering, deployment, and implementation of ZScaler Client Connector for Windows across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design, document, build, test, and deploy SASE security frameworks, with a specific focus on ZScaler products.
- Engineer and troubleshoot ZScaler ZCC, ZPA, and ZIA solutions, including certifying new client versions and configuring application segments.
- Develop and implement automation for SASE deployments and configurations using CI/CD tools such as Chef and Ansible.
- Support, maintain, and enhance agents, scripts, and tools that secure company platforms within the SASE architecture.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the firm's SASE security model, including configurations for ZPA and ZIA.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on SASE, ZPA, and ZIA for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical direction for all firm-mandated controls, compliance initiatives, and regulatory efforts related to the SASE program.
- Ensure the integration of SASE functions aligns with strategic business goals and define system enhancements for new product deployments.
- Identify root causes, business impact, and causality for security incidents related to the SASE framework.
- Advise and mentor junior team members on SASE best practices and ZScaler deployment strategies.
- Influence key technical decisions through expert advice and counsel on SASE initiatives.
- Assess risk during business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies to protect the firm's reputation and assets.
Qualifications
- 4+ years' experience in a senior engineering role focused on cybersecurity, network security, or a related domain.
- Deep familiarity with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) concepts and architecture.
- Significant hands-on experience with ZScaler technologies, particularly ZScaler Client Connector (ZCC), ZScaler Private Access (ZPA), and ZScaler Internet Access (ZIA).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python or Ruby.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Security Development Lifecycle Processes (SDLCP) and associated security tools.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for tackling engineering challenges and learning new technologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to document and explain complex technical concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with peer security teams and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
