Senior SAP Administrator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and security-focused Senior SAP Administrator to support and protect the networking components of our SAP landscapes. The SAP Administrator is responsible for leading the configuration, optimization, and governance of SAP/ERP systems supporting life cycle logistics, enterprise property accountability, capital asset management, and supply chain operations. This role serves as a functional leader bridging business operations and enterprise systems to ensure effective planning, acquisition, provisioning, warehouse operations, material management, maintenance support, and disposition activities.
The position requires deep expertise in SAP configuration, enterprise data management, process automation, and system integration, along with strong leadership skills to drive ERP modernization initiatives, audit readiness, and continuous process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage end-user requirements, facilitating as intermediator between end-users and Development team, to steward needs to development updates to SAP systems, tools and applications
- Provide thorough User Experience (UX) services to include maintaining, updating, and generating system documentation: topology diagrams, runbooks, operational procedures, change logs and configuration baselines to enable Enterprise users with accurate information to learn and train with
- Provide training to enterprise users on new applications, or updated workflows, and system enhancements, aligned to Facilities Management and Logistics services
- Track and report key operational metrics (availability, incident trends, patch compliance, capacity utilization) to stakeholders and support continuous improvement initiatives, aligned to Facilities and Logistics management (e.g., preventive maintenance, incident response times, procurement performance metrics)
- Drive automation for repetitive operational tasks (patching, backups, monitoring, deployments) using scripts and orchestration tools to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior administrators; participate in on-call rotations and lead incident post-mortems to drive root-cause remediation.
- Manage day-to-day administration of SAP systems (S/4HANA, BASIS layer and associated modules), ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Plan, coordinate and execute SAP system installations, upgrades, patches, kernel upgrades, and system refreshes in development, test and production environments.
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning for SAP application servers, database instances, and interfaces to meet SLAs and business performance requirements.
- Administer and optimize SAP S/4HANA or other supported databases, including capacity planning, indexing, partitioning and statistics maintenance.
- Implement, test and maintain backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures; perform regular restore tests and ensure data integrity.
- Oversee SAP security and user administration: role design/maintenance, user provisioning, single sign-on (SSO) configuration, authorization audits and segregation-of-duties controls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP incidents and integration issues across middleware, interfaces (IDoc, RFC, ALE), third-party connectors and custom code interactions.
- Coordinate and execute system and interface change management processes in collaboration with release management and application teams; validate transports and post-deployment checks.
- Manage SAP system monitoring, alerting and log analysis using tools such as SAP Solution Manager, Focused Run, or equivalent monitoring platforms.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, regulatory requirements and audit controls related to SAP operations and data handling.
- Collaborate with application owners, developers, network, storage and security teams to design and implement high-availability and scalable SAP landscapes.
- Evaluate and recommend SAP platform improvements, tooling, licensing optimizations and cloud/migration strategies (on-premise, HEC, hyperscalers).
- Manage vendor relationships for SAP support, liaise with SAP support and third-party vendors for problem resolution and coordinated updates.
- Participate in project workstreams for SAP implementations, upgrades, interfaces, and migrations; provide architecture input, sizing, and cutover planning.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required prior to start date
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience.
- 12+ years of experience supporting or managing SAP/ERP systems in a supply chain, logistics, or asset management environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP configuration and functional process design.
- Experience with inventory management, material management, property accountability, or capital asset management processes.
- Knowledge of enterprise data management principles and data governance best practices.
- Experience supporting audit readiness, compliance initiatives, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and translate business requirements into system solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in SAP functional leadership roles.
- Experience with SAP modules such as MM (Materials Management), PM (Plant Maintenance), EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), FI-AA (Asset Accounting), or S/4HANA environments.
- Experience leading ERP modernization or system integration initiatives.
- Strong background in enterprise property management or capital asset lifecycle management.
- Experience developing enterprise reporting, analytics dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of federal property regulations, acquisition policies, or regulated environments.
- Proven experience in policy development, program management, and cross-functional leadership.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $139,100.00 - $251,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
