Senior Reliability Engineer

The Senior Reliability Engineer drives the development and execution of reliability strategies that enhance the performance, safety, and lifecycle of advanced material manufacturing systems. This role leads root‑cause analysis, implements proactive maintenance methodologies, and partners with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure equipment and process reliability. The engineer leverages data‑driven insights to reduce downtime, optimize asset performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Operating as a technical expert within Global Engineering, this position supports scalable, long‑term reliability solutions that enable manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution reliability programs to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and extend asset life.
  • Conduct detailed root‑cause analyses of equipment and process failures, driving corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Implement and continuously refine predictive and preventive maintenance strategies using data analytics, condition monitoring, and reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, continuous improvement, and quality teams to standardize reliability practices and ensure consistent performance.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and recommend technical solutions to enhance reliability.
  • Support capital projects and equipment design reviews to ensure reliability requirements are integrated into new systems and upgrades.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to site engineering and maintenance teams to strengthen reliability capabilities.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
  • Document and share best practices across global facilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • 9+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or equipment performance optimization within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven expertise with reliability tools and methodologies such as FMEA, RCA, RCM, predictive maintenance, and condition‑monitoring technologies.
  • Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skills, with experience using reliability or asset‑management software and statistical analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional technical initiatives and influence engineering and operations teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in reliability or maintenance (e.g., CRE, CMRP) demonstrating advanced methodology expertise.
  • Certification in advanced problem-solving (Six Sigma Black/Green Belt).
  • Experience working in advanced materials, specialty chemicals, or high‑precision industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with advanced predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, machine learning–based monitoring, or digital twin systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex reliability improvements or capital projects that deliver measurable performance, cost, or reliability gains.
