Senior Product Manager, AI Therapy
About Us
OurRitual is a fast-growing digital platform reshaping how relationship therapy works. We combine expert-led therapy sessions with AI-powered support to create a blended experience — where clinical depth and intelligent technology weave together into something neither could deliver alone. A therapist brings depth. AI brings continuity. Together, they reshape what relationship support feels like in the 167 hours between sessions.
We call it Continuous Therapy. We've reached product-market fit with strong growth, exceptional engagement, and retention that breaks the category. We have 200+ expert therapists on the platform and the largest dataset of clinically-annotated couples therapy sessions in existence. We're pre-Series A, at the stage where AI moves from feature to foundation.
Role Overview
As Senior Product Manager — AI Therapy, you will own how AI and clinical expertise come together across the product to create a new kind of therapy experience. This role sits at the intersection of consumer product, AI technology, and clinical science — defining what intelligent relationship support looks like when it's grounded in real therapeutic data and validated by real clinicians.
You'll design the conversational AI that supports users between sessions — emotional processing, conversation preparation, reflections, personalized guidance. You'll build the intelligence layer that turns therapy session data into structured relationship context, so every interaction feels informed by the couple's actual journey. And you'll push into open space — new product surfaces, new modes of support, new ways to make therapists more effective — because the category is being created now and the playbook doesn't exist.
This is a hands-on role that requires balancing vision with execution, working closely with our clinical lead, AI engineers, and design team to ship products where every word matters — because people are vulnerable when they use them. In regular collaboration with founders and clinical leadership, you'll shape the AI therapy strategy and help define the future of continuous, tech-enabled relationship support.
Key Responsibilities
AI Product Definition
Own the AI therapy product surface — conversational flows, tone, behavioral rules, guardrails, and prompt engineering for between-session support
Define how AI shows up across modes: emotional processing, conversation preparation, reflections, personalized guidance
Drive the user-facing AI experience from spec to ship — ensuring it feels warm, safe, and clinically grounded
Intelligence Infrastructure
Define how therapy session data becomes structured relationship context — extraction logic, confidence scoring, lifecycle management, recommendation systems
Build the intelligence layer that makes AI interactions feel informed by the couple's history and therapeutic journey
Shape content recommendation and insight delivery systems
Clinical-Product Integration
Partner with clinical lead and therapist network to validate every AI behavior before it reaches users
Translate therapeutic frameworks into product specs that engineers can build from
Design expert-in-the-loop workflows and crisis safety protocols
Ensure what ships is therapeutically sound, not just technically impressive
New Product Surfaces
Identify and develop new AI-powered experiences — adaptive insights, tools for therapists, modes of support that don't exist yet
Run POCs with real users, define acceptance criteria, measure outcomes, iterate
Collaborate with consumer product initiatives to ensure AI and human experiences are seamlessly aligned
Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of product management in consumer products, with real AI/ML experience
Hands-on LLM product work — prompt engineering, model behavior, shipping AI that needs to be safe and reliable
Genuine interest in therapy, mental health, or emotional wellbeing — you understand why clinical grounding matters and why this space demands more care than most
Strong spec-writing — translating complex behavioral and clinical requirements into clear, buildable definitions
Cross-functional fluency — comfortable going deep with engineers on architecture, with clinicians on therapeutic frameworks, with designers on experience
Builder mentality — energized by defining problems, not just executing against a predetermined roadmap
Fluent English
Nice-to-Have Skills
Health-tech, therapy-tech, or regulated consumer product experience
Conversational AI background — designing conversation flows, managing AI tone and personality
Personal experience with therapy (individual or couples) — it gives intuition that's hard to teach
0-to-1 product track record at early-stage companies
Experience with clinical validation workflows or expert-in-the-loop AI systems
Why This Role
Therapy is about to look very different — not because AI replaces therapists, but because people expect more than a weekly hour can deliver. This is a rare opportunity to define how AI and clinical expertise blend together to support relationships at scale. You'll work with a dataset that doesn't exist anywhere else, building products that couldn't be built at any other company. If you care about building AI that genuinely helps people in their most vulnerable moments, this is it.
