Senior Process Engineer
Roles and Responsibilities
Production Process Optimization and Supervision:
- Supervise and optimize the production processes of the plant, in collaboration with the Department managers and the process engineers.
- Analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement continuous improvement actions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality
- Lead the development and implementation of new production processes and the integration of new technologies and equipment
- Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the production facilities by proactively addressing process-related issues and bottlenecks
Knowledge development and Operational Excellence:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to support the professional development of team members, process engineers, APU managers and supervisors, foremen and operators.
- Responsible for development of process technology skills in the different layers of the organization, utilizing a skill matrix, performing fit/gap analysis and reporting on knowledge development.
- Link with other locations of Lesaffre Group and Lesaffre Headquarters to establish synergies on similar equipment and technologies and share and implement best practices.
Continuous Improvement and Modernization:
- Analyze production data and process performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reinforce the continuous improvement culture, in collaboration with the CI manager and department managers.
- Lead investment projects and the modernization of production equipment to drive process enhancements and technological advancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, maintenance, quality) to evaluate and prioritize capital expenditure proposals
- Ensure the smooth integration of new equipment and systems into the existing production environment with minimal disruption
- Drive innovation in Industry 4.0 applications, remote monitoring, integrating data in decision making, linking with Lesaffre Digital, Data & Tech teams to share and implement best practices and technologies.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure the plant's operations comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety protocols
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant work environment
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) metrics
- Collaborate with the EHS team to identify and mitigate potential risks, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices
Sustainability Leadership:
- Collaborate with the site leadership in achieving Lesaffre 2030 Sustainability Goals, with emphasis on CO2 neutrality, water conservation, and waste reduction
- Actively engage in the development of the annual sustainability action plans, track progress via ESG metrics, and report outcomes to global headquarters
- Closely participate with stakeholders to foster a culture of sustainability, including training programs and cross-departmental green team.
Qualifications and Experience
Education, Experience & Key Competencies
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in process engineering or industrial engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Significant experience (>10 years) in managing production processes in yeast fermentation industry and related processes drying, packaging, utilities.
- In-depth knowledge of production technologies, automation, and control systems.
- Extensive technical expertise in industrial production processes and process optimization
- Expertise in data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making to optimize production processes
- Demonstrated sense of innovation and continuous process improvement
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Experienced in using ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency in change management and strategic leadership
- Financial acumen and business decision-making capabilities
- Ongoing learning and adaptation to new production and automation technologies
