Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Raleigh, NC)
Work with power, system, board architecture, and other cross-organization colleagues to ensure board meets requirements to our SoC. Provide schematic/layout guidance to CAD team and conduct design reviews following internal and industry established guidelines. Analyze test results ensuring sufficient design margins have been achieved. Provide feedback to teams to implement changes as required. Support SoC, software and firmware teams during development. Analyze test results ensuring sufficient design margins have been achieved. Provide feedback to teams to implement changes as required. Support SoC, software and firmware teams during development Provides technical expertise for next generation initiatives. The role will cover all aspects of product development including (but not limited to) specifying board level power design, power management products and voltage regulator selection, development, programming, debug, as well as post-silicon board/SoC test validation and power correlation ensuring system-level performance and power metrics are met. Requires expertise in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: power electronics (switch mode and linear), power management, high bandwidth/low latency control interfaces, thermal analysis, power distribution networks, firmware coding, Python or similar scripting languages, PCB layout and construction and industry standard interfaces (e.g. DDR, PCIE, USB etc). Uses design and simulation tools such as MATLAB, SIMPLIS, Excel and Mentor Graphics Work with power, system, board architecture, and other cross-organization colleagues to ensure board meets power delivery requirements to SoC. Provide schematic/layout guidance to CAD team and conduct design reviews following internal and industry established guidelines Help drive internal simulation teams to ensure board design meets signal and power integrity (SI/PI) including (but not limited to) impedance analysis, IR drop analysis, transient droop/overshoot for all rails.
