Title:

Senior Network and Systems Specialist

KBR is seeking a hands-on IT Systems Specialist to support onsite systems across unclassified, collateral, and Special Access Program (SAP) environments. This self-directed role requires ownership of site systems, independent execution of daily IT tasks, and sustainment of multiple networks and infrastructure to meet mission and customer needs.

The position includes managing projects, responding to customer requests, and maintaining a Common Operating Picture (COP) using tools such as Power BI or ServiceNow, translating technical data into mission-relevant visuals and workflows. The role also involves Trusted Agent duties and serving as an alternate COMSEC responsible officer and security officer, as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain system availability through hands-on troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Support and coordinate IT activities required to ensure project execution and delivery.
  • Perform system configuration and issue resolution with limited administrative privileges.
  • Provide operational support for networked environments and assist with connectivity issues.
  • Support and administer SharePoint, including enabling Power BI, ServiceNow, or similar tool integrations.
  • Provide processes, be appointed, and support customers to obtain accounts on multiple systems.
  • Develop and maintain common operating tools, dashboards, and documentation for customer use.
  • Ensure systems and devices are configured in accordance with DoD cybersecurity guidance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance, with eligibility for access to SCI and SAP environments, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience supporting systems, networks, or infrastructure, in DoD or other classified environments.
  • Experience managing and timely delivery on multiple IT projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience administering and sustaining classified and unclassified IT systems and networks.
  • Experience developing or maintaining a Common Operating Picture (COP) using tools such as Power BI, ServiceNow, or similar platforms, including translating technical data into mission‑relevant reporting and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of DoD IT policies, security requirements, and compliance practices and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly, respond effectively to user needs, and build trusted working relationships with mission partners.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support mission‑critical operations.
  • Industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, ITIL, MCSE, CCNA, or comparable DoD‑recognized credentials. IATII or IAMI minimum required.

Desired:

  • Experience with advanced COP or dashboard enhancements, including data integration, automation, or workflow optimization.
  • Familiarity with RMF activities, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, or coordination with cybersecurity teams.
  • Experience with compliance inspection preparation.
  • Experience establishing Standard Operating Procedures, processes, and providing user training.
  • Experience supporting IT modernization efforts, technology refreshes, or lifecycle planning.
  • Knowledge of virtualized environments, enterprise storage, or backup and recovery solutions.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff or provide informal technical guidance to peers and leadership.
  • Experience balancing multiple stakeholder priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate sustainment risks.

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$125,000 - $140,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
