Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications
Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications (SMoMC) is a key leader on the Shared Services Team responsible for elevating KIPP Jacksonville’s public profile and strengthening enrollment and talent pipelines through strategic, high-impact communications. This role owns the regional marketing and communications strategy, directly influencing student and teacher recruitment outcomes. The SMoMC also oversees the media intern program, cultivating future storytellers who amplify KIPP Jacksonville’s joyful and equitable learning environment.
This is a year-round, full-time position that partners closely with the School Operations, Talent, and External Affairs teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Recruitment Impact
- Develop and lead regional marketing strategy with clear goals for student recruitment, teacher recruitment, and community brand awareness.
- Partner with the Director of Enrollment and the Director of Talent to analyze data and optimize campaigns based on conversion metrics.
- Oversee marketing budgets to ensure investments yield strong enrollment and hiring returns.
- Lead paid media efforts (e.g., digital, radio, billboard) and track impact on application generation and brand growth.
Digital & Social Media Management
- Manage all regional social media accounts and content calendar.
- Supervise media interns and provide coaching in social media storytelling, brand alignment, and field coverage.
- Oversee the KIPP Jacksonville website and drive content updates aligned to family and teacher-facing priorities.
- Lead digital newsletters and email campaigns for prospective families, staff, and community partners.
Internal & External Communications
- Write and distribute regional internal newsletters and updates in coordination with executive leadership.
- Develop external messaging, including press releases, media statements, op-eds, and donor-facing communications.
- Create and maintain standardized parent communication templates (e.g., welcome letters, orientation info, FAQs) to ensure consistent, timely, and high-quality messaging at the start of each school year.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all external-facing media requests and brand partnerships.
Collateral Development & Brand Management
- Design or oversee creation of branded marketing materials (e.g., school flyers, recruitment materials, swag).
- Ensure consistent branding across presentations, signage, social media, and printed content.
- Maintain a library of brand assets, photography, and video content for recruitment and development use.
Key Success Metrics
- 30% of new student applications come directly from marketing campaigns.
- Quarterly increase in engagement across social media platforms.
- Measurable increase in teacher applicant pipeline from targeted campaigns.
- 100% of major regional events supported with timely, on-brand communications.
- All schools and departments report receiving responsive and high-quality communications support.
- Media intern program results in high-quality field coverage and content production each quarter.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade
In the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm, K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 student dismissal is at 1:30pm
High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School student dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Required
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and CMS/web management
Comfort with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint)
Highly Preferred
Experience in a nonprofit, charter school, or mission-driven organization
Understanding of brand strategy and storytelling in educational or equity-focused settings
Familiarity with photography, video editing, or content management systems

This is a full-time, year-round position based at the KIPP Jacksonville Regional Office. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with some flexibility required around major events, campaign launches, or media deadlines. After initial onboarding this role will have a hybrid work schedule with 3 days required in office each week and two days remote.
Pay and Compensation
Base pay starts at $62,000 and is commensurate on experience
