Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of represented employees in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and execute the manufacturing plan and schedule, implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome
  • Lead team in quality improvement initiatives
  • Lead team in developing solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Manage the build process and compliance for engineering requirements, Quality Assurance standards, and customer contract requirements

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or other related course of study 
  • 3+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports
  • 3+ years of experience leading and implementing projects in a production facing role
  • Experience in Production Support Role; such as Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, NC Programming, or equivalent area
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills and professional presence to be able to work with company executives and customers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in a management role with direct reports, leading and implementing projects in a production facing environment, with a background in production support functions such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, NC Programming, or a related discipline
  • Experience with emerging technologies
  • Network across the aerospace industry
  • Ability to define technology development required for new aerospace and/or manufacturing concepts

Summary Pay Range: $120,800 - $185,200
