Senior Institutional Operations Analyst

Within this role, you will provide technical and operational support to the CMC Connect team and our Institutional client base across the full client lifecycle. This includes pre-sales testing, onboarding, enabling ongoing trading activity, and managing commercial and technical configurations. You will also play a key role in establishing and maintaining connectivity with institutional clients and relevant third-party technology providers.

Please note that the role require a strong understanding of FIX protocol.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CMC Connect team to support the global technical onboarding of new institutional clients, including user acceptance testing and the launch of new processes, technologies, and products

  • Gather and understand institutional requirements from both internal and external stakeholders, working with IT and other relevant teams to test and deliver solutions through the full development lifecycle

  • Maintain and monitor system configurations and back-office components across the institutional application stack

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, supporting the end-to-end client connectivity journey—from institutional clients through to CMC’s internal Networks team and third-party providers such as MT4/5 bridges and ECNs

  • Contribute to institutional IT and product strategy, including planning, development, and delivery initiatives

  • Develop a strong understanding of institutional activities, revenue models, and remuneration structures to support effective prioritisation and decision-making

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining business controls related to client setup and ongoing management

  • Work closely with the Business Operations team to support daily institutional operational activities

  • Maintain ongoing personal and professional development, including completion of all relevant regulatory and legislative training

  • Ensure all interactions with clients, customers, and colleagues are conducted with professionalism, fairness, and a consistently high standard of service that reflects positively on CMC Markets

  • Take all reasonable steps to maintain confidentiality

  • Undertake additional duties, training, or working hours as reasonably required and appropriate to the level of the role

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing business process change and technology implementation projects

  • Strong understanding of FIX protocol is essential

  • Knowledge of the institutional derivatives business (preferred)

  • Relevant experience supporting an institutional electronic trading environment

  • Experience working with web services and API-based platforms

  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of financial markets

  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Commercially and strategically minded, with a strong client-service focus

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver to deadlines

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail
