Senior Fitness Instructor (FDSPA1112)
Interviews are expected to be held on 20th April 2026. This role will be based on the university campus.

The University has recently made significant investments into the campus sports facilities including £1.4m on a newly opened, state of the art gym at the Edge. The facility portfolio includes the Edge, the Gryphon Sports Centre and Cromer Terrace Studio. These include a 25m swimming pool with sauna and steam room, 150 exercise classes per week across 3 dedicated studios, an indoor climbing wall, squash courts and the largest indoor sports hall in Leeds.
We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Fitness Instructor to provide assistance in the day-to-day operations and supervision of our fitness facilities and sport complex. You will supervise a small team of Fitness Instructors and will be responsive to the needs of customers and be regularly available to provide help and advice. You will take an active role in fitness instruction, Personal Training (PT), Course delivery, Health and Fitness Assessments and preparing tailored fitness programmes for our diverse member base.
With a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification or equivalent you will also have experience of working in a sport, leisure or fitness facility, along with the ability to deliver group exercise sessions. You will have the ability to engage and motivate others to achieve goals and lead by example with a commitment to setting and achieving the highest standards. A commitment to providing excellent customer service and driving continuous service improvements is also deemed essential for this role.
The role is full time, working on a shift basis which will include the requirement for you to work early mornings (06:00am start), evenings (23:00 finish), weekends, University closure days and bank holidays. You will be primarily based at one of our designated sports facilities, however, will be required to work at any of our sports facilities when required.
