Senior Director, Business Development- Poultry (f/m/d)

  • Yearly Salary: [DE] €150,000 - €180,000 / [US] $206,250 - $247,500

  • Stock Options: [DE] €180,000 - €300,000 / [US] $198,000 - $330,000

Your role

As a Senior Director, Business Development - Poultry (f/m/d), you are accountable for the success of Orbem’s global poultry business. You will drive commercial strategy, lead business development teams, and manage the development and delivery of groundbreaking AI-powered products and services for the poultry industry.

This position has a significant impact, as it directly influences revenue growth and innovation in Orbem’s core market, the poultry sector. By owning the business strategy and budget, as well as professional development processes, this role ensures that Orbem remains competitive and forward-thinking.

Collaboration is key. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, providing guidance and fostering alignment across different regions and functions. The role exemplifies Orbem’s culture of support and innovation, creating a positive environment where the team can thrive.

Your day-to-day

Your daily activities encompass these key areas: 

Strategic Leadership in Poultry

  • Grow Orbem’s poultry business globally. 

  • Build strong relationships within the poultry sector with all key stakeholders.

  • Ensure cohesive and innovative strategies across Orbem’s activities.

P&L Responsibility

  • Manage the P&L for the poultry business unit, maintaining strong growth and performance.

  • Ensure strategic allocation of resources that align with Orbem’s goals and deliver measurable results.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate strategic, financial, operational, and compliance risks affecting the business unit, ensuring business continuity and sustainable growth

Ownership of Business Development

  • Lead all business development efforts, ensuring commercial growth, strategy alignment, and execution.

  • Own the hiring, promotion, and professional development process for business development team members.

  • Take responsibility for decisions related to team structure, promotions, and salary increases within the business development team.

  • Grow and develop the business development team members with a focus on career development, data-driven sales, and marketing expertise.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Align goals of the business unit with Orbem’s core values, fostering a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented work environment.

  • Mentor and guide the teams through professional development, ensuring constant growth and alignment with Orbem’s goals.

  • Coach selected individuals to enable efficient leadership of the business unit.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other teams and functions to provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance as needed.

  • Promote cross-functional debriefs and feedback sessions to ensure transparent team communication and alignment.

  • Foster a supportive and motivating work environment, creating a space where team members feel empowered to excel.

  • Make informed decisions in high-uncertainty environments, balancing risk and opportunity to protect and grow the business.

Culture & Values Leadership

  • Lead by example, promoting Orbem’s core values through daily actions, decision-making, and interactions.

  • Support team members by being available, approachable, and proactive in providing guidance and feedback.
