Senior Data & Insights Manager - 13 month FTC

The role:

You will be responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and high-quality flow of data into the business, transforming it into actionable consumer and retail insights, and leading the reporting function within Consumer Care.

This role supports the UK and EMEA regions across Haircare, Skincare, Suncare, and Bronzing categories, and includes line management responsibility.

What you will do:

Insight Management across all categories of UK KAO Consumer Care  (Hair, Skin, Sun and Tan)

  • Manage regular and ad hoc insight flow to all key internal stakeholders, attuned to the evolving needs
  • Use all internal data sources to produce performance updates and category deepdives
  • Design and deliver strategic insight projects to support business obectives across categories and markets
  • Present in different forums ensuring content and delivery are adapted to different audience needs

Development of Insight and Reporting tools, processes and solutions for UK 

  • Lead the evolution and development of Insight tools and architecture, driving efficient and accurate reporting, freeing up capacity to deliver strategic insight and analysis
  • Ensure internal teams are set up and upskilled in using data and insight tools and are able to self serve for everyday tasks
  • Continuously monitor business needs to ensure our insight solutions are helping us achieve our business objectives

Agency Management: Ensuring that external research and analytics partners deliver high-quality work that aligns with business needs and strategic goals

  • Day to day management of agency resource as well as coordination of onsites, training and in house support for agency deliverables
  • Briefing agencies, overseeing and coordinating projects, support in completing agency scorecards to monitor performance
  • Admin support with agencies (invoicing, PO raising, Intracompany cross charging, etc)

EMEA Insight Coordination across Consumer Care categories 

  • Represent the UK in the delivery cross market insight projects according to business needs (Pricing, Forecasting, Portfolio management, etc)
  • Work closely with the EMEA and Global Marketing teams to ensure UK local market knowledge is considered in Marketing initiatives

What you will need:

  • BSc/BA hons degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in Retail Data or Consumer Insights Agency
  • FMCG Experience
  • Ability to lead the evolution and development of Insight tools and architecture, driving efficient and accurate reporting, freeing up capacity to deliver strategic insight and analysis
  • Coach and upskill internal teams to be able to independently understand KAO and Category performance and interpret data
  • Excellent relationship management skills to ensure we have great rapport with our agencies and get the most out of our contracts
  • Ability to work with large sums of data efficiently and turn it into compelling stories with actionable insights . 
  • Ability to influence decision making across functions and levels with clear insights that help KAO achieve short and long term objectives
  • Passion for coaching and developing more junior team members / individuals that need help with interpreting data (retail, consumer and market)
  • Management experience would be advantageous; this role has 1 direct and 1 dotted line report
