Your role and responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of current and future projects within the Cyberspace Programme, including capabilities, scope, timelines, and projected evolution 

  • Act as a bridge between ACT and OCIO teams in Brussels and the US, helping activities converge and ensuring coordination across relevant meetings and work strands 

  • Review roadmap and programme activities on a recurring basis to identify overlaps, gaps, conflicts, and coordination touchpoints 

  • Support de-confliction between the Cyberspace Programme and the Cyber Adaptation Roadmap, including coordination with NCIA where required 

  • Track actions and synchronization points across stakeholders and ensure follow-through where dependencies or conflicts arise 

  • Engage with key stakeholders across ACT, OCIO, NATO HQ, NCIA, NSPA, and other relevant cyber/CIS communities 

  • Attend relevant meetings and provide concise summaries and briefings to support leadership awareness and decision-making 

  • Maintain regular contact with adjacent offices and branches to ensure broader alignment across cyber security and cyberspace activities 

  • Help identify and mitigate potential programme, schedule, technical, or organisational conflicts before they escalate  

Desired skills & experience (must-haves)

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field 

  • Postgraduate education or professional certification in cyber security / information systems security, such as CISSPGIACISACACISM, or equivalent 

  • At least 5 years of experience in cyber security or cyberspace operations, applying cyber knowledge in complex systems environments 

  • At least 5 years of experience working on large-scale cyber or CIS projects at enterprise level 

  • At least 3 years of experience working in an international environment and building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups 

  • Demonstrated experience operating in large, complex enterprise environments 

  • Working knowledge of NATO as an organisation, including its key entities and relationships across NATO HQ, OCIO, Strategic Commands, NCIA, and NSPA 

  • Strong organisational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills 

  • Proven ability to mediate, de-conflict, and broker practical “win-win” solutions across competing stakeholder interests 

  • Confidence working in ambiguous environments with limited direction, and willingness to engage proactively 

  • Full professional fluency in English; strong written and spoken communication are essential 

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office tools and collaborative working environments 

  • Citizen of a NATO member state 

  • Holder of an active NATO or national SECRET clearance (or higher), or clearly eligible to hold one 

  • Ability to work on-site in Brussels and travel without restriction across NATO nations as required  

Any of the following would be a plus

  • Prior experience supporting NATO cyber adaptation, enterprise cyber security, or cyberspace capability development 

  • Experience working directly with programme offices, requirement managers, implementation teams, or capability branches in defence environments 

  • Familiarity with Cyber Adaptation Roadmaps, capability roadmaps, or cross-organisational programme governance 

  • Experience supporting senior-level coordination meetings, reporting, or decision support in security-sensitive environments 

  • Previous exposure to defence, government, or international institutional settings beyond NATO
