About the role

An exciting new opportunity has become available to join AGL’s Integrated Portfolio Planning division.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Advisor to provide execution capability across AGL’s fuel portfolio, supporting the team in the delivery of secure, compliant and cost-effective fuel supply to AGL’s thermal generation sites.
You will lead complex commercial negotiations with AGL’s fuel counterparties, operating within the company’s strategic direction, risk appetite and delegations framework.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead commercial negotiations for fuel supply and logistics agreements.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, positions and fallback options.
  • Execute contract renewals, restructures and variations.
  • Own ongoing commercial management of key fuel and logistics contracts, ensuring negotiated outcomes are implemented and monitored.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, escalating material exposures or strategic impacts.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across Trading, Risk, Finance, Legal and Site Operations teams.
  • Ensure health, safety, environment, and community (HSEC) compliance.

About you

You are an established commercial advisor with significant negotiation experience, an ability to build strong professional relationships and an analytical mindset that can translate market insights into executable commercial outcomes.
You will demonstrate:

  • Commercial experience and contract management within energy, resources, infrastructure or bulk commodity markets is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated capability leading complex, high value commercial negotiations with senior counterparties.
  • Strong understanding of supply chains and associated commercial, operational and logistics risks.
  • High level capability in contract interpretation, commercial risk assessment, dispute resolution and contract lifecycle management.
  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, engineering or a related discipline are highly regarded.
