Senior Associate, Direct Credit

As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Solutions to clients across the globe, we manage approximately $145.6B in discretionary assets under management and $859.8B in non-discretionary assets under management, as of September 30, 2025.
The Opportunity:
The Senior Associate will be responsible for evaluating mostly credit-oriented investment opportunities through a direct investment model. The Direct Credit Team at Hamilton Lane invests across a widely diverse set of private credit security types, geographies and industry sectors.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Perform fundamental credit analysis and in-depth company specific due diligence
- Conduct industry research, articulate opinions and write clear and concise memoranda on investment opportunities
- Create and assess complex financial models
- Monitor existing investments by analyzing and reporting on portfolio companies’ financial results, inclusive of valuation reviews
- Present investment opportunities to senior executives of the firm
- Supervise and develop junior investment professionals
- Develop bank and general partner relationships for primary and secondary transaction sourcing
- Assist in prospective and existing client meetings
- Assist in legal documentation related to closing investments
Your background will include:
Must-haves:
- At least 4 years relevant credit investment experience at an investment bank, high yield and/or leveraged loan fund/private credit manager
- Strong background; proficient in credit risk analysis, financial modeling, and memo creation for various credit security types
Nice-to-haves:
- Strong academic credentials
- Ability to conduct industry research, articulate opinions and write clear and concise memoranda on investment opportunities
- A team-oriented approach and an ability to interact productively across multiple verticals within Hamilton Lane
- Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong interest and commitment to private markets investing
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze complex information
- Willingness to work 50+ hours / week and travel 10+% of time
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10% domestic/international
