Role Summary and Impact
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate to join the WPP Media Clients Team. As the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, you will manage their advertising needs end to end across all channels (may include digital/non-digital or biddable/non-biddable). Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their business goals, and translating these into effective advertising strategies. You will independently oversee the entire campaign lifecycle, from initial strategy and planning to setup, execution, and ongoing optimization, while also contributing to the mentoring and development of junior team members. Your role is crucial in ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations. Through meticulous planning, continuous performance analysis, and strategic leadership, you will drive successful outcomes and deliver exceptional value to our clients.
Skills and Experience
What you will do:
Client Relationship & Servicing:
- Client Champion: Proactively communicate with clients, providing regular updates on campaign performance, industry trends, and new opportunities. Independently manage client expectations and ensure high levels of satisfaction with our services, handling escalations with confidence and professionalism.
- Trusted Advisor: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients based on trust, transparency, and proactive communication. Act as a trusted strategic advisor, providing well-informed guidance and recommendations to help clients achieve their business goals, drawing on your experience across multiple campaigns and industries.
Account Management & Strategy:
- Data-Driven Approach: Lead a data-driven approach to optimize campaign performance and drive client success. This involves independently leveraging advanced analytics and data insights to inform strategy, planning, and execution, and guiding junior team members in doing the same.
- Analyse key performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-backed decisions to enhance the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, proactively flagging risks and opportunities.
- Strategic Insight: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client businesses, target audiences, competitive landscapes, and industry trends, using this knowledge to proactively shape and evolve client strategies.
- Goal-Oriented Planning: Lead client conversations to define clear and measurable campaign objectives, aligning advertising strategies with overall business goals and contributing to longer-term account planning.
- Cross-Channel Expertise: Independently develop comprehensive advertising strategies and media plans across all relevant channels, with a strong understanding of how channels work together to deliver holistic results.
- Budget Management: Determine appropriate budgets, allocate resources effectively across different channels, and make informed recommendations to optimize campaign performance and client investment.
Implementation & Operations:
- Seamless Execution: Lead the implementation of advertising campaigns across all channels, ensuring timely launch, accurate setup, and quality control, while supporting junior associates in their day-to-day execution tasks.
- Budget Control: Manage campaign budgets and track spending meticulously to ensure optimal ROI and full client transparency, proactively identifying and resolving budget discrepancies.
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., creative, analytics) to ensure seamless campaign execution. Take an active role in supporting and mentoring junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate overall team performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Independently monitor and optimize campaign performance, using analytics tools to track key metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions with minimal direction.
Optimization & Reporting:
- Data-Driven Optimization: Regularly and independently analyse data to uncover insights, adjust strategies, and implement changes that enhance campaign performance, going beyond surface-level metrics to identify deeper trends.
- A/B Testing: Design and lead A/B testing initiatives to identify the most effective campaign elements and optimize for conversions, engagement, and other key performance indicators, sharing learnings across the team.
- Insightful Reporting: Develop and deliver regular reports that clearly communicate campaign performance, insights, and strategic recommendations to clients in a digestible and actionable format, tailoring the narrative to different stakeholder audiences.
- Strategic Analysis: Proactively analyse campaign data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing forward-looking strategic recommendations to clients to inform future campaigns and account growth.
What you will need:
- Approximately 3 years of experience in media, advertising, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing client accounts and campaigns end to end.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability, while also contributing effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and nurture strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with all major advertising channels (may include biddable/digital channels like search, social, and programmatic as well as non-biddable/non-digital channels like TV, Print, Radio, OOH/DOOH, Cinema, Digital IOs, etc.), with the ability to develop integrated, cross-channel strategies.
- Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Evogenious (TV), Clear Decisions, Excel, PowerBI) to track campaign performance, generate insights, and inform optimization strategies, with the ability to independently interpret and present data findings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a consistently data-driven approach to campaign planning, management, and optimization.
- Emerging leadership qualities, with experience or a willingness to support and mentor junior team members, contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture.
