Senior Asia Test Manager

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Senior Asia Testing Manager based in China (Xiamen) or Vietnam (Hanoi).

The Senior Asia Testing Manager leads mechanical product testing operations across Asia, including product compliance, new product introduction (NPI) testing, supplier quality verification, component testing, and test capacity planning. This role serves as the primary regional point of contact for testing and partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Supplier Quality, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure all products meet consumer, commercial, regulatory, and internal standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong testing discipline, quality focus, and the ability to mentor regional teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in structured problem solving and root cause methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, 5 Whys, and the Scientific Method, along with strong cross-functional influence and execution.

Role Commitments:

  • Lead all mechanical product testing operations across Asia
  • Ensure products meet consumer, commercial, regulatory, and internal standards
  • Oversee compliance, NPI testing, supplier quality verification, and component testing
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Supplier Quality, and contract manufacturers
  • Drive hands-on leadership in testing discipline, problem solving, and team development

Responsibilities:

  • Multi-Site Leadership: Direct and align test lab operations across China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, ensuring consistency in protocols and data integrity
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate manual workflows and implement automated testing solutions to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and expand test coverage
  • Standards Ownership: Serve as regional expert on ASTM, EN, and UL standards; ensure all products meet global safety and durability requirements
  • Quality Advancement: Shift focus from compliance to perceived quality by leveraging field failure data and customer insights to enhance real-world testing scenarios
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Bridge Asia-based manufacturing partners with US-based engineering teams, translating test results into actionable product improvements

Experience / Professional Credentials:

  • 7+ years in testing or quality leadership roles
  • 3+ years managing teams across multiple countries
  • Experience with ASTM, EN, and/or UL standards (3 to 5 years required)
  • Background in testing, engineering, or quality within a testing environment
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing engineers and technicians
  • Ability to operate with appropriate assertiveness and influence
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin required; Vietnamese is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required
  • Preference for Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering

Subject Matter Knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge of ASTM, EN, and UL testing standards
  • Experience documenting and communicating test results
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 testing lab standards and audits
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including DMAIC methodologies
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, plastics, machining, electrical systems, assembly, welding, and product testing

Travel Expectations:

  • Occasional regional travel required
  • Periodic international travel to iFIT’s Logan, Utah headquarters as needed
