Edelman is looking for a superior Senior Account Executive to join our Consumer and Brand Team supporting a global food account and others.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, collaborative, a problem solver at heart, has strong media relations and storytelling skills, and is well versed in digital and social media.
They bring an earned media first mindset and a strong curiosity for culture, with a particular interest in how Gen Z engages with brands, food, and trends.
Experience with food related accounts and event experience a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the public relations industry and its basic principles, with a clear focus on earned media strategy and execution
Understand key client information, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors
Provide client service administration, including preparing client status and activity reports, attending meetings and conference calls, compiling media and competitor coverage, coordinating press tour pitching, scheduling and logistics
with a strong understanding of what makes a story media relevant
Research, outline, write, edit and proofread materials, including press materials, scripts, newsletter articles and awards,
helping surface cultural insights and audience trends, including Gen Z sentiment when relevant
Assist with research, including analysis of media coverage and online conversations,
Demonstrate a general knowledge of social media tools

Build a network of media and
using cultural awareness and audience insight to strengthen earned media ideas
Proactively develop and offer fresh story angles to internal account teams and clients,
Manage projects using organizational skills, working with colleagues, vendors and support agencies and keeping project leaders apprised of status
Help supervise interns and trainees
Participate in the new business process, including research, audits, preparation of proposals and support for new business pitches
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 2 years of relevant experience in public relations and or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
They will have an intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the clients’ businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc.
They will have a solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals, with earned media as a primary driver
They also will have solid research, writing and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts and relationships, with a gen-z focus
They are expected to have a fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies
They must be a proactive self starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
They have an affinity for storytelling, and can generate creative ideas, take risks and think big

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
