As a Marketing Manager, Customer Segments, you will lead the development and delivery of segment‑led marketing initiatives that drive growth across priority customer segments (e.g. Youth, Young Adults, Migrants, Mass Affluent). You will translate customer insight into impactful go‑to‑market activity that increases acquisition, consideration, engagement and share of wallet.

Consumer Marketing is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) within the Marketing and Corporate Affairs function at CommBank.

Consumer Marketing works as a strategic partner to the Retail Bank. As part of the Customer Segments team, you will bring a dedicated segments lens, grounded in customer and cultural insight, to shape initiatives that are highly relevant, differentiated, and commercially effective.

You will work cross‑functionally to ensure segment priorities are embedded early in planning, and that campaigns are executed with discipline and cut‑through across ATL, BTL and owned channels.

Key responsibilities

On any given day, you will:

  • Translate segment strategies and business objectives into clear, insight‑led marketing communications and go‑to‑market plans
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of segment campaigns, from brief to execution and post‑campaign review, ensuring activity drives acquisition, consideration, engagement or retention outcomes
  • Apply deep understanding of customer segments and sub‑segments (e.g. life stage, cultural context, maturity) to prioritise moments, channels and messages that matter most
  • Partner closely with Product, Data & Analytics, Media, Brand & Creative and Digital teams through cross‑functional squads and forums to influence strategy and execution
  • Manage agency partners to deliver high‑quality creative that is fit‑for‑platform and aligned to segment and brand strategy
  • Govern delivery through established marketing processes (e.g. briefs, approvals, Workfront, RACI) to ensure compliance, quality and speed to market
  • Track performance and use insights to optimise activity and inform future segment strategies

We’d love to hear from people who have:

  • Experience with end-to-end, integrated campaign delivery with accountability across strategy, production and execution.
  • Developed project management, analytical and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence influencing stakeholders and partners to deliver customer‑led outcomes
  • Commercial acumen and ability to track, optimise and demonstrate ROI/ROMI from campaign metrics.
  • Be able to identify the most appropriate analytical and research frameworks to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to ensure best practice, governance with emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to create positive outcomes with a can-do attitude.
  • Creative thinker with a problem-solving and growth mindset. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a marketing generalist or marketing communications role.
  • Experience in technology and financial services marketing preferred but not essential.
