Senior Cloud Operations Specialist
The Role The Senior Cloud Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering and optimising Seequent’s cloud based products and platforms. You’ll combine deep technical expertise with a strong focus on collaboration, working closely with team members across different regions to ensure our cloud infrastructure remains stable, secure, and high performing. While not a formal leadership position, you will work closely with Team Leads to help build a strong, positive, and collaborative team environment If you are passionate about supporting both systems and people, have strong experience with Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python, and can operate at a medium to high technical level, this role is for you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Technical Operational Delivery Lead incident response and resolve alerts; escalate complex issues to the New Zealand OnCall team when needed. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Support growth of team capability by handing off work appropriately and avoiding knowledge silos. Ensure smooth coordination across regions through clear communication and timely updates. Collaboration Continuous Improvement Communicate status, blockers, and concerns to the APAC Team Lead and Cloud Operations Manager. Share new technologies and learnings with the team and support team members’ ongoing development. Promote strong time management habits and a collaborative delivery culture, ensuring work moves efficiently between time zones. Enhance systems, documentation, and processes by identifying improvement opportunities and executing them with the team. To be successful in this role, you should have: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent. 7+ years’ experience in Cloud Operations or equivalent role. Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong Linux knowledge with deep experience in Kubernetes. Hands on experience with Git, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform. Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, or infrastructure-related scripting. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and logging/monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Information This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, and operates in a hybrid model with at least three days per week in the office. You may occasionally need to support urgent incidents outside normal working hours. #LI-NP1
