The Georgetown R&D center is the global technology hub for Corteva’s canola breeding programs with on-site field, greenhouse and lab activities supporting the development of industry leading seed products for various markets.
We are currently seeking a Seed Handling Specialist to support in inventory management, seed processing and population development.

What You'll Do:
Maintain accurate real-time inventory levels for various canola hybrids, parent lines, and experimental varieties
Utilize Seed Management Software to log all seed movements, transfers, and adjustments
Facilitate domestic and international shipments, preparing necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, phytosanitary certificates, and customs declarations).
Prioritize and allocate seed inventory based on source quality, seasonal planting windows, and inventory availability
Managing day to day activities for greenhouse projects from planting, tissue sampling, crossing to harvesting for canola and wheat
Working effectively with database software to manage projects
Participate in the improvement of safety programs and protocols (safety, efficiency, effectiveness) specific to direct work environment to identify and communicate potential risks and benefits.
Complete personal development activities as part of a performance management and development plan
Being an active team member within the R&D center to help with other field and greenhouse operations as needed.
What Skills You Need:
Two-year degree with 3-5 years' experience or bachelor's degree in Genetics, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field preferred
High level of accuracy in record-keeping and inventory reconciliation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong aptitude for learning computer software
Skilled at horticultural experiment execution
Ability to work in greenhouse and field environment (temperatures above 30oC)
