Securities Clearing Operations Consultant
The Clearing Post-Trade Services and Risk team operates within CME Group’s Clearing House and oversees daily trade processing for futures/options and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives, ensuring the timely clearing of customer transactions and performing key risk management functions. The Clearing House guarantees its member firms meet their financial obligations for all open positions, as well as offering various clearing services to drive efficiencies for CME Group’s customers.
The Clearing Operations Consultant will be working on an initiative to launch a new US Treasury and Repo clearing service.The core responsibilities of this role involve providing operational support for the clearing service, facilitating customer testing, and successfully onboarding new market participants. This requires active engagement with both internal stakeholders and external market participants.
What you'll do:
Provide support to clearing member firms, customers and business partners on CME Group’s product offering and clearing systems
Mitigate customer impactful events through escalation to management and troubleshoot with technology teams to deliver fixes in a timely manner within SLAs
Drive improvements in risk management practices and contribute to the Clearing House’s operational risk framework
Develop an understanding of the Banking & Collateral Team’s responsibilities and assist with operational tasks such as the payment and collection of margin, margin reconciliation, collateral substitutions, and daily cash investments
Work globally with teammates on new initiatives and projects
What you'll need:
MS/BS in Finance, Economics, or related field
Prior work experience with listed derivatives, Treasury Securities, Repo markets, or OTC products at a clearing house, FCM, or trading firm
Strong experience in Excel (or Google Sheets) including pivot tables, vlookups, and macros
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
CME Group is seeking skilled and experienced Consultants for a fixed term of engagement from 5/05/2026 to 12/31/2026. CME is committed to offering competitive compensation for our consultants that recognizes their contributions to the business. The hourly pay range for this role is expected to be $45-$55 per hour. The actual pay offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal consultants or employees (where relevant). Please note that while this opportunity is for a consultant role dedicated to CME, the consultant will be directly employed by a third party vendor, which would provide pay and benefits.
