**The Role**
We need dynamic leaders like you to solve scale and automation problems that will drive our next phase of growth. In this role, you'll lead a team of smart engineers working on innovative, mission-critical software and services. You'll have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and development of products that transform B2B procurement.
You'll be responsible for owning large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools that enable seamless integration between Amazon Business and external procurement systems through our innovated system integration products such as PunchOut, Agentic Shopping, etc.

Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of Software Development Engineers in designing and architecting products and tools that leverage the latest AI and agentic technologies for Amazon Business's Integrated Shopping Experience and Agent-Based PunchOut systems, setting technical vision and strategic direction for seamless B2B procurement integrations.
Create scalable, distributed systems architecture that integrates AI/ML and agentic capabilities to power intelligent procurement workflows, enabling enterprise customers to discover, compare, and purchase products through their existing ERP systems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, Workday) while maintaining exceptional quality through continuous learning systems.
Collaborate with applied scientists, enterprise partners, UX researchers, and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, customer experiences, and scaling opportunities for the Agent-Based PunchOut platform, ensuring seamless integration between Amazon Business and external procurement systems.
Establish structures that enable your team to solve complex integration problems and deliver impactful software systems using Gen AI-based SDLC practices, building audit mechanisms and metrics that demonstrate your team's performance against goals while accelerating development cycles through AI-assisted coding, testing, and deployment.
Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy for intelligent, context-aware shopping experiences that adapt to enterprise procurement policies, approval workflows, and business rules across all marketplaces, ensuring maintainability, operational excellence, and seamless agent-to-agent communication between customer systems and Amazon Business.
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
