Scientist/Senior Scientist for Pharmacology
Description
Biocytogen Boston Corp is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Pharmacology Scientist to support both in vivo and in vitro preclinical research services in the fields of immunology, immuno-oncology, metabolic disease and neurology. This role is ideal for candidates with broad expertise in pharmacological studies, disease model development, and cell-based assays, who are passionate about evaluating novel therapeutic agents for clients.
The successful candidate will be a critical member of our fast-paced and expanding CRO team, actively engaging in both hands-on experimental work and strategic project management to support biotech and pharmaceutical partners
Key Responsibilities
In Vivo Pharmacology
- Design and develop animal models, execute in vivo experiments to evaluate the biological efficacy of novel therapeutic agents.
- Independently lead in vivo service projects and preclinical studies, acting as Project Manager or Study Director.
- Perform animal handling, tumor inoculation, drug administration via multiple routes, blood and tissue collection, tumor measurements, and PK/PD studies.
- Design and execute internal model-building projects and characterize various humanized mouse models.
- Provide troubleshooting support and technical guidance to junior associates.
- Collaborate closely with the BD/Sales team for client project planning and technical discussions.
- Present project results to clients and internal stakeholders; prepare scientific reports and summaries.
- Mentor and facilitate the growth of junior research associates.
In Vitro and Ex Vivo Pharmacology
- Independently develop, validate, and perform a broad range of in vitro and ex vivo assays including:
- Immune cell profiling from blood and tissues.
- Functional assays using primary cells (T cells, NK cells, macrophages).
- Cytokine profiling, cytotoxicity, and apoptosis assays.
- Develop new assay technologies by researching scientific literature and adapting methodologies from collaborations and other internal teams.
- Perform flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, Western blot, qRT-PCR, and multiplex cytokine analyses.
- Contribute to the design and support of in vivo pharmacology studies from an in vitro perspective.
- Present research findings at internal meetings and contribute to external scientific discussions.
