The Scientist I – Chemical, Industrial, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical, etc. for Cytiva is responsible for the optimization and scale up of processes related to membrane applications.

This position is part of the Biotechnology CTO organization located in Cytiva Pensacola and will be an on-site position. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What will you do:

  • Focus on process optimization, process scaleup, data analysis and equipment upgrades of new membrane technologies for current and future applications.
  • Collaboration with scientists on new membrane technologies to develop proof-of-concept, process optimization and scale up.
  • Prototypes manufacturing and interaction with customers during testing.
  • Maintain accurate, organized data and detailed description of experiments in both electronic and physical notebooks, being capable of clearly communicating data and observations orally and through presentations.

Who are you:

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.
  • Detailed oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Someone with good understanding of process development and scaleup.
  • Someone with additional lab work experience in the form of internships, co-ops, or similar.
  • A reliable team player that is also able to work alone efficiently when needed.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for up to 10%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Membrane testing (buffers and testing samples preparation, mechanical, flow, morphology and functional performance).
  • Surface chemistry.
  • Membrane modification.
  • Membrane coating.
  • Data analysis and good communication
