Salesforce Engineering Manager

All France (remote) Remote March 25, 2026 Full Time Ashby

Pennylane is building the financial OS (Operating System) for European SMEs. A single source of truth for financial data, used on one side by entrepreneurs to run their business (invoicing and getting paid, paying suppliers and expense management, piloting cash and profitability) and on the other side by their accountant for bookkeeping and fiscal declarations.

Saving time to all entrepreneurs and accountants, helping them to make the right decisions and enabling 3rd parties to offer added-value personalised financial services.

We’ve launched in France and will expand to other markets in Continental Europe in the coming years. Our commercial website is thus in French only but the code is obviously documented in English and our tech team speaks English.

We’re product-led, growing fast, backed by strong investors and are starting to hire software engineers anywhere in Europe, to join our experienced remote-first engineering team.

👪 Team and context

At Pennylane, the CRM is not just a support function—it is a strategic pillar for our €100M+ ARR business. The CRM Engineering Manager will lead a growing team responsible for the design, evolution, and operational excellence of our Salesforce-based CRM platform, which powers Sales, Success, Finance, and cross-team business processes. As we scale, we need an outstanding leader to drive technical vision, data quality, and cross-functional collaboration at the highest level.

Pennylane is based in Paris but our tech team is remote-first. You can work from anywhere in Europe. The team meets in Paris a few days every two months.

💡 Your role

You will join Pennylane’s Tech department (250+ engineers) and directly manage the CRM squad, currently composed of developers, a product manager, and operations specialists. Your mission is to architect and execute on the CRM roadmap, ensuring robust integrations, high data quality, and seamless business enablement. You will be the key technical and organizational touchpoint for stakeholders across Sales, Product, Ops, Finance, and Data.

🎯Your missions

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Setting the technical and organizational vision for the CRM platform, with a focus on scalability, automation, and data integrity.

  • Managing, mentoring, and growing a diverse team of engineers fostering a culture of excellence and ownership.

  • Leading the design and delivery of major CRM initiatives: from pricing evolution to internationalization (notably Germany) and multi-product enablement.

  • Ensuring best-in-class integration between Salesforce and Pennylane's core systems, getting involved in data governance, and driving continuous improvement in data quality and operational processes.

  • Acting as the strategic partner for business teams, translating complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions and measurable outcomes.

  • Championing engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, and documentation, while maintaining a strong focus on business impact and stakeholder satisfaction

As the technical leader of the CRM platform, you will also:

  • Own the Salesforce solution design end-to-end: sharing model, multi-cloud strategy (Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, Service Cloud…), declarative automations, and user experience.

  • Drive data architecture decisions including data modeling, migration strategies, data quality governance, backup policies, and the management of large data volumes on the platform.

  • Define and enforce integration patterns—how data flows to and from Salesforce—ensuring security of data in transit and at rest, and overseeing API design and deployment management.

  • Take a pragmatic, business-value-led approach: deliver executable roadmaps in weeks or months, favor MVP-oriented solutions, and avoid analysis paralysis.

  • Collaborate closely with the Data team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment between the CRM architecture and Pennylane's broader technical ecosystem.

✨ What you can expect from your life at Pennylane

Within one month:

You will be onboarded into our company and tech ecosystem, meet key stakeholders, and gain a deep understanding of the existing CRM architecture and its business context.

Within 3 months:

You will lead your first strategic initiatives, engage directly with internal users to identify pain points, and start optimizing both processes and team structure for impact.

Within 6 months:

You will own the technical roadmap, drive delivery of cross-functional projects, and be recognized as the go-to leader for all things CRM at Pennylane.

And beyond:

You will play a pivotal role in scaling our CRM capability, influencing both technical and organizational strategy, with opportunities for further leadership growth as the company expands

🥇 You’re the right candidate if you have...

  • Proven experience leading CRM or Salesforce engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS or product company.

  • Deep technical expertise in Salesforce architecture, integrations, and data management, as well as broader software engineering best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex cross-team initiatives and deliver measurable business value in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where multiple priorities compete for attention.

  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and tight timelines, with a calm and structured approach to managing competing demands from diverse stakeholders.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and vice versa.

  • A strategic mindset, high standards for quality and impact, and a passion for mentoring and developing talent
