House Manager & Meal Prep Support

Williston, VT, US April 21, 2026 Full Time

Title: House Manager & Meal Prep Support

Location: Williston, VT 05495

Employment Type: Part-time (15–20 hours/week)

Proposed Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $25–30/hour based on experience.

Requirements:

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided)
  • Pass background check
  • Up-to-date vaccinations
  • Infant CPR certified (family willing to cover certification cost)

Proposed Schedule:

  • Approximately 3 days per week (example: Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Monday/Tuesday/Thursday).
  • Flexible daytime hours starting around 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM.
  • Potential opportunity for additional hours in summer months when daycare closes early.

About Our Family:

We are a busy, dual-working household with two young children (toddler and infant) and a dog. Both parents work primarily from home in demanding, high-focus careers and are deeply committed to both their work and their family life. With a recent return from maternity leave, the household is in a transition period where having strong operational support will make a meaningful difference in day-to-day quality of life.

We value routine, structure, and creating a home environment that feels calm, functional, and supportive. We are looking for a partner who can step in, take ownership of key areas, and help create sustainable systems so our home runs smoothly even during busy work seasons or travel.

We have full-time childcare in place, but we appreciate flexibility for occasional backup support or seasonal schedule adjustments when daycare hours shift.

Who You Are / What We’re Looking For:

You are proactive, confident, and action-oriented. You see what needs to be done and take ownership without needing close direction. You are comfortable making decisions, building systems, and bringing structure to a home that is busy but deeply values organization and balance.

You are a strong communicator who is comfortable asking questions, providing updates, and collaborating with two working parents without needing to be micromanaged. You bring a calm, competent presence and take pride in making life easier for the families you support.

You likely thrive in roles where you can work independently, problem solve, and create long-term efficiencies — not just complete daily tasks. You are detail-oriented, reliable, and take initiative naturally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Planning & Preparation
    • Plan and batch prepare approximately 2 family meals per week.
    • Prepare grab-and-go breakfast options for adults.
    • Wash and chop fruits/vegetables and prepare snacks for children.
    • Support occasional baby-led weaning food prep.
    • Maintain freezer meal rotation and light monthly freezer stocking.
    • Follow strict food safety protocols related to severe egg allergy in the household.
    • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization post-prep.
  • Household Management & Organization
    • Maintain organization systems across closets, storage, pantry, and household zones.
    • Reset and tidy key living areas daily and prepare home for bi-weekly cleaning service.
    • Support decluttering projects and home organization during ongoing home updates/renovations.
    • Manage seasonal swaps (clothing, bedding, household items, etc.).
    • Coordinate donation drop-offs and household item transitions.
    • Track and support household calendars and logistics (including digital calendar systems).
    • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and home maintenance professionals.
    • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions.
  • Inventory Management & Errands
    • Track and restock pantry, fridge, household goods, toiletries, and supplies.
    • Manage household orders (Amazon, Target, Costco, etc.).
    • Schedule grocery pick-ups and manage grocery planning logistics.
    • Handle mail, packages, and returns.
    • Run local errands (returns, dry cleaning, gift wrapping, etc.)
  • Laundry & Linen Care
    • Manage household laundry cycle (wash, dry, fold, organize).
    • Rotate bedding and towels and maintain linen organization.
    • Prepare clothing and items for work travel when needed.
    • Maintain laundry supply inventory and organization.
  • Pet Support
    • Maintain dog feeding/water stations and supply inventory.
    • Coordinate grooming appointments (quarterly).
    • Order and administer monthly medication.
    • Occasional backyard play time with the family dog.
  • Vendor, Property & Seasonal Maintenance Support
    • Coordinate service appointments and vendor scheduling.
    • Help build seasonal maintenance checklists (winter prep, rotating car tires, seasonal transitions, etc.).
    • Track warranties, service records, and household documentation.
  • Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
    • Support travel planning logistics and preparation.
    • Maintain family calendar reminders and household scheduling.
    • Assist with light receipt tracking and household admin backlog (warranties, licenses, returns, etc.).
  • Family Support & Flex Support
    • Occasional backup childcare or date night coverage.
    • Occasional daycare pickup support when one parent is traveling.
    • Potential summer schedule support (not required).
