Brief Description:
New Process (NP) is looking for an experienced Safety Professional to directly assist the President/COO in developing and overseeing the safety compliance and safety culture across the company. This role is responsible for evaluating, coordinating, and leading safety programs and activities to ensure consistency and effectiveness. The Safety Supervisor also identifies and drives ongoing efforts to continuously improve overall safety performance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work out of the largest US-based New Process facility in Columbus, MS, with emphasis on strong floor presence and positive safety engagement with employees and leaders
• Required to occasionally travel to other New Process facilities in US and MX
• Assure uniform and consistent implementation and management of all applicable OSHA and SDI Safety Programs throughout all NP facilities
• Promote cross collaboration (NP and SDI) to share safety technology and best practices
• Provide safety leadership and guidance to NP Plant Managers
• Introduce and gradually evolve engagement in the SDI Take Control of Safety initiatives
• Ensure appropriate management of internal safety incidents within the SDI Incident Management System resulting in strong corrective actions
• Implement a review process for all applicable external PSIF events applicable to NP
• Evaluate and implement required safety training throughout all NP facilities (new hire orientation, ongoing monthly, job specific, etc.)
Required
• Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook
• Ability to skillfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Visible, influential, positive, passionate and collaborative leadership traits
• Able to travel – intercompany, education, & benchmarking
Preferred
• B.S. in a safety related field and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• 3 years of professional experience in a safety-related field
