Position Description

 

ENSCO Inc is a diverse engineering and technology company that provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions that guarantee mission success, safety, and security to governments and private industries worldwide. ENSCO provides technical subject matter experts to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Duties will include:
• Assist the DTRA Occupational Safety and Health Managers in developing health and safety plans and programs affecting all RD-TS construction and testing activities.
• Participate in test and construction planning meetings, annual and periodic safety inspections.
• Manage an underground safety program, perform underground safety training, work in and manage permit required confined spaces as a supervisor, entrant, and or rescue.

Qualifications Required
• Bachelors or equivalent with 7+ years development and implementation of instrumentation plans for highly complex experiments.
• Working knowledge with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with entering permit required confined spaces and don up to Level A personal protective equipment.
• Ability to serve as test team Safety Officer and shall be able to coordinate and communicate with other test team members.
• Experience with respiratory program management including quantitative fit testing using a Port-a-Count, personal protective equipment management including self-contained breathing apparatus and portable air monitoring equipment (i.e. four gas meters, etc.)
• Shall have an understanding of the steps for performing risk assessments, hazard analysis, hazard mitigation, hazardous materials program management and awareness, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

  1. Required training/certification before coming to the position:
  • OSHA Permit-Required Confined Space Training, OSHA 510 (Construction), 511 (General Industry), and 7405 (Fall Protection) training or Occupational Safety degree or Associate (or higher) Safety Professional credential
  • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-hour Training
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED training
    • Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
    • AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.

Qualifications Desired
• Direct experience with Counter WMD Weapons and Capabilities program with DTRA
• Technical skills to understand and analyze system problems, define potential solutions, and conduct in-depth analysis, assessments and trades and explain methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal skills including writing reports and presenting results to customers
• OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 8-hour Refresher Training
• OSHA Underground (tunneling) training
• DTRA Site-Specific Underground Training
• Host installation specific training for hazardous material and/or hazardous waste management
• CURRENT TOP SECRET IS DESIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.

Salary Range

$108,825.60 - $140,000 USD
