Rod Mill Team Lead

03/13/2026 Brief Description: Leads rod line crew operations.  Fully engaged in all “Take control of safety” initiatives.  Provides and solicits feedback between other rod line crew, supervisors and other casting leads.  Ensures JSAs, SOPs and best practices are followed to produce Safe, Quality, Low-Cost Pounds. Job Duties and Responsibilities: •  100% engagement in “Take control of Safety” o Lead toolbox talks, assist in training, administer SOPs and JSAs, recognize and eliminate hazards, and other PSIF prevention initiative activities • Lead and support rod line crew in proper line operation o Ensure proper preparation of line before operating o Learn and apply all aspects of line operation and maintenance o Fully train crew on individual roles and cross train o Use data to analyze and optimize line performance • Ensure records are accurate and quality requirements are met • Maintains rod line equipment and systems • Work with management to continuously improve safety, quality, profitability, sustainability and productivity • Take guidance from supervisor and collaborate with other lead Required • Excellent record of safety and performance • Positive attitude • Demonstrated problem solving, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting and critical thinking skills • Ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced, team-oriented work environment • Strong initiative and work ethic • Must have good math skills, as well as oral and written communication skills • Ability to lead and train others
