Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced and inspiring Registered Nurse (RN) Manager to lead our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at our Waxahachie campus. About the Unit

  • 25-bed mixed PCU
  • 4:1 patient ratio
  • Supports a diverse PCU patient population
  • Actively preparing for Level III Trauma designation
  • Stable unit with low turnover and strong team engagement

Role Overview

The RN Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and operational management of the PCU. This role ensures high-quality patient care, staff development, regulatory compliance, and achievement of departmental and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing leadership and direction for nursing staff and supervisors
  • Overseeing daily operations, staffing, and patient flow
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
  • Supporting quality initiatives, performance improvement, and Magnet principles
  • Partnering with senior leadership on unit growth, expansion, and program development
  • Serving as a clinical and operational resource for the care team

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong clinical background, preferably in PCU or acute care settings

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Experience in quality improvement and unit-based program development
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is needed for this role.
  • A minimum of (3) three years' relevant experience is desired.
  • Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of starting the job.
