Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time physician to join our pioneering Psychiatric Emergency Department (PED) team at the Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center in Hampton, Virginia

We welcome Emergency Medicine Physicians, Family Medicine Physicians, and Psychiatrists who:

🩺 Your Role Includes:
- Providing acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adolescents (12–17) and adults
- Leading crisis intervention and short-term stabilization care
- Conducting psychiatric evaluations, comprehensive assessments, and medication management
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and peer recovery specialists
- Supporting a full continuum of care:
- Intensive Treatment Program (ITP)
- Adult Psychiatric Services (APSY)
- Inpatient Detoxification
- Dual Diagnosis Services
- Individual, Family & Group Therapy
- Recreation & Art Therapy
- Life Skills Groups
- Substance Abuse Interventions
🧩 Essential Functions:
- Provide professional guidance to APPs and students in the Emergency Department
- Perform authorized emergency procedures (30% of time)
- Deliver direct patient care as an Emergency Medicine Physician (60% of time)
- Participate in leadership, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives
🎓 Education & Credentials:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Virginia Medical License (or eligibility)
- Valid DEA controlled substance registration
- Must meet comprehensive and professional standards
